Stick Man returns to London

Everyone’s favourite theatrical twig will return to London this Christmas with the announcement that Stick Man will play a fourth festive season at the Leicester Square Theatre.

Scamp Theatre’s touching show, which is based on the woody adventurer at the heart of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book, will play from 8 November to 4 January.

Featuring three actors and a one-man band, Stick Man follows the title character as he embarks on a journey into the world outside the family tree, where a dog wants to play fetch and a swan wants his help to build a nest.

Suitable for children aged three and older, the show charts the woodland dweller’s troubles as he gets mistaken for just another twig, taking audiences on a journey through the seasons before culminating in a joyous celebration of Christmas.

The show’s forthcoming London run will see last year’s cast, which comprises Richard Kiess as Stick Man alongside Cassie Vallance and Alex Tosh, return to their roles.

As part of Stick Man’s season in the capital, the family production will also stage a relaxed performance. Taking place on 23 November, the specially adapted performance is suitable for children with autism spectrum conditions, sensory and communication disorders, or learning disabilities who would benefit from a more relaxed environment when watching a show.
