Revival of Ravenhill’s Shopping And F**king

First Published 20 June 2016, Last Updated 1 August 2018

Mark Ravenhill’s iconic play about sex and consumerism will run at the Lyric Hammersmith this autumn to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Lyric Artistic Director and Olivier Award winner Sean Holmes will bring Shopping And F**king to the Hammersmith venue in October, 20 years after the play’s premiere at the Royal Court Theatre. Ravenhill’s provocative piece is a dark comedy about the impact of consumerism in modern life, and how it transforms relationships into a transaction like any other.

Ravenhill, who has collaborated with the Lyric Hammersmith throughout his career, described the revival as ‘very exciting’ and said ‘I’m looking forward to seeing what a new generation of theatre audiences make of the play’.

The Lyric Hammersmith’s main house will be transformed for the production, offering onstage seating, with all stalls and stage seats sold for £25. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the venue’s website.
