Kids Week in the West End 2009 is a record-breaking success, having sold over 19,000 tickets in just its first day of sales, around 3,000 more than the previous record set last year.

The annual promotion, now in its 12th year, offers one free child’s ticket to a participating London show with every full paying adult ticket. It also includes the chance to purchase up to two additional children’s tickets for half price.

The promotion opened yesterday (14 July) and eager theatregoers immediately jumped at the chance to allow their children to experience some of London’s most popular and exciting productions absolutely free.

Theatregoers who haven’t purchased Kids Week tickets yet need not panic, as there are many more tickets available and stocks will be updated throughout the promotion. To discover what is available visit www.kidsweek.co.uk or call the Kids Week ticket hotline on 0844 248 5151.

Running from 14-28 August, Kids Week is the annual initiative to promote theatregoing to under 16s. In addition to free and half price tickets, Kids Week also offers the chance for youngsters to get involved, with workshops, backstage experiences and the opportunity to talk, sing and dance with the show’s casts.
