RAD offers Wicked workshop for kids

First Published 28 August 2015, Last Updated 28 August 2015

Children aged five and older have the chance to take a lesson from the team behind everyone’s favourite gravity-defying musical this September with the Royal Academy of Dance’s Wicked Musical Theatre Workshop.

The acclaimed dance organisation is offering beginners the chance to learn from the Oz-set musical’s experts on 19 September. No previous dance experience is required.

Held at Lift in Islington, the Wicked Musical Theatre Workshop will give participants the chance to share the magic of the much-loved musical, which charts the story of how two sorcery students fulfil their destinies as two of the central spell-conjuring characters in L Frank Baum’s The Wizard Of Oz.

Now the 10th longest-running show in the West End, Wicked brings the tale to life with an iconic score of hits that include For Good, The Wizard And I, Popular and the ever popular Defying Gravity.

Aspiring young dancers can book for the beginners’ workshop, which takes place at 13:00, through the Royal Academy of Dance’s website.

The West End production of Wicked is currently booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 30 April 2016 and is set to celebrate its ninth anniversary in the capital next month.

Those wanting to catch the show this bank holiday weekend can book tickets through our kids go free promotion Kids Week, with each child aged 16 or under going for free with every adult ticket purchased. For tickets from September you can book tickets through us.
