Nichol and Fleischer bring spring comedy to Chocolate Factory

Published 3 March 2009

Comedians Phil Nichol and Charles Fleischer are to play short seasons at the Menier Chocolate Factory this spring.

If.comedy Award-winner Nichol plays seven performances between 12 and 20 March, while Fleischer enjoys a three-week run at the London Bridge venue from 24 March to 11 April.

Nichol won the if.comedy Award – formerly the Perrier Award – for his 2006 Edinburgh Festival offering The Naked Racist. Material from The Naked Racist is combined with excerpts from previous shows Nearly Gay and Hiro Worship for his Chocolate Factory season.

Away from the stand-up scene, Nichol is an accomplished actor, performing in the West End in shows including Taboo and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

Comedian and musician Fleischer began his entertainment life as a stand-up comedian, before becoming best known as the voice behind animated superstar Roger Rabbit. He has also voiced characters in The Polar Express and We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story. In addition to his regular performances, Fleischer will present two family friendly shows on 29 March and 5 April at 15:30.

Nichol and Fleischer follow in the footsteps of comedians such as Bill Bailey, Marcus Brigstocke, Jason Byrne, Rhona Cameron, Patrick Kielty and Mark Thomas by performing at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
