Rhys Ifans will play the iconic Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird when it comes to the Gielgud Theatre next year. The new play based on Harper Lee’s modern classic novel has been adapted by Aaron Sorkin, known for his witty and fast-paced dialogue in the likes of The West Wing, The Newsroom and Studio 60.

Rhys Ifans will play the staunchly moral lawyer at the centre of To Kill A Mockingbird – following in the footsteps of Jeff Daniels (Dumb And Dumber, The Newsroom) who originated the role and Ed Harris, who took over on Broadway. Rhys has just finished performing in On Bear Ridge, which ran at the Royal Court Theatre this autumn.
