Marc Antolin, Jemima Rooper and Matt Willis will star in the upcoming Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production of Little Shop Of Horrors.

Marc (Into The Woods, Open Air Theatre) and Jemima (One Man, Two Guvnors, Hand To God) will star as floral shop assistants Seymour and Audrey respectively, with Willis (bassist, vocalist and writer for Busted) will play the gleefully sadistic dentist Orin.

The comic, cult musical classic tells the story of a mean, green plant – Audrey II, played by U.S. drag queen Vicky Vox – who brings fame and fortune to Mr Mushnik’s (played by Forbes Masson, recent star of Travesties) ramshackle florists’ shop on Skid Row. But Audrey II’s killer potential comes with deadly consequences – and a voracious appetite.

Narrating the tale are Renée Lamb, Seyi Omooba and Christina Modestou as Chiffon, Crystal and Ronnette respectively. Joe Allen, Josh Baker, Billy Cullum, Julian Hoult, Rosalind James, Bobbie Little, Helen Siveter and Mary Lynn Tiep complete the cast.

Little Shop Of Horrors is the stage musical of Roger Corman’s hilariously zany film. Its music is from Alan Menken, who has written for numerous Disney films including Aladdin and Hercules, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman.

Director Maria Aberg, making her Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre debut, said of the show: “The figure of Audrey II represents chaos at the heart of the downtrodden, deeply conventional world of Skid Row. She is everything Seymour’s existence is not – anarchic, queer, wickedly funny.

“Fuelled by Seymour’s own wish for success she grows increasingly demanding, increasingly glamorous, and increasingly unreasonable, until she’s conquered the whole of New York and the show erupts in a huge, defiant celebration of the subversive and the downright fabulous.”

Little Shop Of Horrors comes alive at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre – ‘somewhere that’s green!’ – from 3 August to 15 September.
