Scott & Bailey star Lesley Sharp will lead the cast of Robert Alan Evans’ mysterious new drama The Woods.

The star of stage and screen, whose other renowned roles include a BAFTA-nominated turn in The Full Monty and ITV’s Afterlife, will be joined by Finn Bennett (TV’s Kiri and Liar) and Tom Mothersdale (Peaky Blinders, Endeavour) at the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.

The Woods is the latest play from the pen of Robert Alan Evans, who returns to the Royal Court for the first time since the Olivier Award-winning A Girl In A Car With A Man.

As ever with new writing at the Royal Court, the plot is shrouded in mystery, but promises to involve a cabin deep in the woods, a lost boy buried in the snow, a lone woman – and her wolf.

Performances begin Wednesday 5 September, playing until Saturday 13 October.
