In rehearsal: Filumena

As London enjoyed an unexpectedly balmy weekend, the cast of Michael Attenborough’s forthcoming play at the Almeida theatre transported themselves to the heat of late 1940s Naples for Filumena rehearsals.

Italian playwright Eduardo de Filippo’s drama about an iron-willed woman who marries her lover on her deathbed before making a miraculous recovery stars Olivier Award-winning Samantha Spiro, who will make her Almeida theatre debut in the production, and Flare Path’s Clive Wood.

Photographer Hugo Glendinning took a sneaky peak at what’s going on in rehearsals ahead of the play’s opening next month.
