The all-female comedy cult classic Ruthless! The Musical, which has frequently played Off-Broadway over the past 25 years, will make its UK premiere at the Arts Theatre this March.

Joel Paley and Marvin Laird’s award-winning show takes aim at numerous Broadway musicals, spoofing shows from Gypsy to Mame, as well as iconic films including The Bad Seed and All About Eve. Starting Off-Broadway a quarter of a century ago, Ruthless! has since discovered young stars including the likes of Britney Spears and Natalie Portman, who were both understudies in its original 1993 run.

Ruthless! The Musical tells the story of Tina Denmark, a beautiful and talented 8 year old with a thirst for stardom, desperate to land the lead role in her school play – and willing to go to any lengths to undercut the competition. Casting for the Arts Theatre production remains to be announced.

Ruthless! will play from 16 March – 23 June, with press night on 27 March.
