Cast announced for Wicked 2018 UK & Ireland tour

Audiences across the country can look forward to seeing a cast including the likes of Amy Ross (Elphaba) and Helen Woolf (Glinda) Defying Gravity as the magnificent musical Wicked tours in 2018.

Ross, who most recently starred as in fellow West End hits Kinky Boots (as Nicola) and Sunny Afternoon (playing Joyce), and Woolf (Wicked, West End), will be joined by the likes of Steven Pinder (The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond), Kim Ismay (Madame Morrible), Emily Shaw (Nessarose), Iddon Jones (Boq) and Nikki Bentley (Standby for Elphaba), along with the previously announced Aaron Sidwell (Fiyero), in leading the cast of the forthcoming return engagement of Wicked’s UK & Ireland Tour in 2018.

Charli Baptie, Jason Broderick, Samantha Brown, Hannah Cadec, Grace Chapman, James Davies-Williams, Howard Ellis, Amy Goodwin, Daniel James Greenaway, Jack Harrison-Cooper, Charlie Karlsen, Nicole Lupino, Stuart MacIver, Stacey McGuire, Sara Morley, Emily Olive Boyd, Georgia Rae Briggs, Paul Saunders, James Titchener, Helen Walsh, Amy Webb, Luke Woollaston and Benjamin Yates complete the touring cast.

The production will visit Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Dublin, Sunderland, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester between 5 February 2018 and 5 January 2019. More information can be found on the show’s website.

Revered in London’s Theatreland, Wicked is already the 16th longest running show in London theatre history, and recently celebrated a decade of performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, where it continues an open-ended run. Based on the acclaimed, best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire that ingeniously re-imagines the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, and with music and lyrics by the multi award-winning Stephen Schwartz, Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. 

The West End production at the Apollo Victoria Theatre currently stars Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Jack Lansbury (Boq) and Laura Pick (Standby for Elphaba), who assumed their roles on Monday 24 July 2017.
